One of the ladies who got laid off recently here is a secretary in the front offices. She has worked here for probably twenty years. March 31st is her last day here. Today I saw that she has posted on the lunch room bulletin board items for sale: a large television set, a DVD player, a stereo, an entertainment center. That's really bad when you feel like you have to sell off the family TV. I feel so sorry for her. Bobby is right. Amen, Bro! Not looking for a handout here, but I think I come across to many people as being much better off than I really am. I've been at my job 22 years (23 next month), and I don' know if I'll have my job a month from now. My heart goes out to that woman, and anyone else in a similar predicament. Hugs.

ReplyDeleteX- I feel the same way. I have a great job that I've been at for 28 years now, but who knows how long I will have it at this point? It's frightening, really.

Nothing is ever safe. These situations suck, but things do change and they do get better. I hope she is able to find another job before her last day.
