It is windy and colder today. The clouds are dark, but the way that the sun is reflecting off of them it makes them look like they are lined with gold. I like that.

Last night, I slept pretty well. I woke up this morning just in time to get ready for work. I have found that when my legs start bothering me, if I lay sideways on the bed on my stomach, with my legs hanging off the bed, they stop bothering me. It's not the most comfortable way to lay, but it does seem to help.

I had a really crappy lunch at 7-11 today on my way to work. Shame on me. It was two hot dogs and a Slurpy. I just felt the urge. I am paying for it though. The hot dogs are repeating on me big time.

Do you know that Coldplay song, When I Ruled The World? I think that the melody is so sad. It makes me feel melancholy whenever I hear it. Forget what the words are, it's the melody that does it to me. It makes me think of my dogs alone at home for some reason. It makes me want to get back home to them right away. It's funny how some music can have that sort of an effect on us at times.

As usual, I'm glad that the weekend is almost here. Saturday is the party at Lubie's house, and Sunday evening my son and his girlfriend are coming over to the house to have Chinese food and visit with the dogs. The rest of the weekend is open. I did such a good job of cleaning last weekend that I don't have to do much this weekend. Come on Friday.

  1. Did you know that Cold Play stole that melody from Joe Satriani? Go to www.youtube.com, and enter Coldplay vs Satriani, and listen to how EXACTLY the same they are. Satriani has a lawsuit going. Go Joe! Hugs.

  2. Viva La Vida is an excellent song from an equally excellent album. It's probably Coldplay's best work to date. As for the Satriani thing...I find it extremely hard to believe that the band has even listened to his music, let alone 40 other people in the last 20 years. He hasn't exactly been relevant in a long time and he certainly won't get any cash from Coldplay. He must be desperate for money.

  3. Xanadu- I didn't know that, but it's the second time I have heard that they have been accused of ripping someone off. And Joe is the man.

    Lubie- I certainly will.

  4. K.- He may well be hard up for cash- I could see that, but make no mistake, he is still relevant to guitarists.

  6. I've met a few people, and it's fun. It's not in a league with drunken night water skiing mind you, but it is fun. :)

  8. Have to put in my 2 cents worth again. Joe Satriani probably has more money than Cold Play EVER will have. Don't get me wrong, but he has been around a lot longer, and his talent is second to NONE! In reference to what KABell said...he is very, VERY relevant, and a super musician. I've seen him in concert many times, and have high regard for him. Sorry, but I don't let anybody diss him, so I had to add this extra comment. It's too coincidental to listen to both of these songs together, and not think ColdPlay's was copied from Satriani. The name of Joe's song is If I Could Fly. Check it out on YouTube. Hugs.

  9. Yeah, I've listened to both songs. The part in question is actually sung by Chris Martin, not played. There's a little similarity, but certainly not enough to warrant a law suit. The fact is...there are no new chords or melodies. Take a listen to the beginning of Sarah McLachlan's "U Want Me 2" and the song "Mad World" and hear the similarity. Take a listen to the instrumental break in the middle of Stabbing Westward's "What Do I Have To Do" and you'll hear a striking resemblance to NIN's "Terrible Lie". Sometimes...it's just a coincidence.

  10. What EV-AH! Sheesh. The part being sung is not in question, it actually IS the melody. Do your research, Hun! Hugs.
